Starter Templates

A starter template is a vetted starting point a user can pick when creating a new project in the Designer. Instead of a blank canvas, they begin from a flow that already reflects your organisation’s conventions.

Operators curate which templates a tenant — or a specific team — sees, so the gallery a user opens is always relevant to them.

In the admin console, a platform operator chooses which templates are surfaced for a tenant. Curation is resolved per user: the gallery a user sees is the union of the tenant-wide templates and the templates curated for the teams they belong to.

In the Designer, a user opens the New project dialog and chooses Start from a template. The picker lists the curated starters; selecting one pre-fills the new project with that template’s flow, ready to edit.

Choosing the blank option still works exactly as before — templates are an optional head start, never a requirement.

  • A clear, descriptive name and summary, so a user can pick the right one without opening it.
  • A flow that is complete enough to run, but generic enough to adapt.
  • Conventions your teams should follow — naming, node structure, channel wiring — baked in, so the template teaches as well as accelerates.
